Lately I’ve been going through some exercises to get better at drawing the human body. I used to draw a lot and my ratios were good, but never great. Since I’ve been out of practice for so long I decided to take a course called Anatomy For Figure Drawing: Mastering The Human Figure Drawing And Commics. I’ve seen the 8 heads tall scale before but I’m not sure I even used it. Being that I now have an iPad Pro and a grid structure that I created directly on it I chose to mathematically apply the 8 heads tall ratio. I’m not really in love with my sketches, but they certainly have their limbs with all the right ratios.
I couldn’t help but to jump ahead and start applying some muscles and clothing. The human form really takes shape with such details in my opinion and I wanted to see how it would look with some flair and testing some different body types. I think it was pretty successful. What do you think?
